StartUp day winner update: Sharp Lines Rugby logo design
In honour of StartUp Day we did a free logo design for one lucky start-up. The winner – Sharp Lines Rugby – really impressed us with their detailed and passionate message stating what a professional logo design would mean to them.
About Sharp Lines Rugby
Sharp Lines Rugby is a blog which aims to be a forum for budding rugby journalists, fans and young people. They want to use their blog as a platform to galvanise people into playing sports, and they particularly want to engage in community work to help disadvantaged young people through sport. A digital enterprise starting on tumblr, they are quite quickly building a community on Facebook and Twitter.

What Sharp Lines Rugby have to say about their logo
When Andy (Co-Founder of Sharp Lines Rugby) and I found out that we won the competition we were delighted. Making sure we had an eye catching logo that would help us establish our brand image was crucial and we had a very specific image we wanted to portray. British Design were brilliant at listening to our needs and they maintained an open minded attitude which suited our very focused remit. Constantly being willing to allow us to change as much as we wanted to finalise the logo designs we wanted was invaluable – we were sent numerous prototype logos which Andy and I discussed and critiqued, ultimately allowing us to finalise a logo that reflected the Sharp Lines brand we want to create. Rugby blogs can often look amateurish but we are hoping with our great angle and new branding we can create something unique that will attract rugby players, coaches and fans to our site and the logo BDE have created has helped us make the first step towards that goal.
Professional from start to finish, BDE know how to cut a sharp line in design.
